PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer travels to Durham, N.C. to face Duke on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The Owls will look for their second win of the 2014 season after splitting a pair of home games last weekend.

HEADLINES
- Temple is 1-2 to open the 2014 season. Â The Owls lost to Drexel and beat Sacramento State 3-0 at home to open the season and lost to Penn State 1-0 last Friday.
- Forward Olli Tynkkynen earned the first American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week of the season after he scored his first two collegiate goals in the team's 3-0 win against Sacramento State.
- Redshirt-senior defender Jonah Williams garnered the American Athletic Conference Defender of the Week after helping the defense allow only one goal in two games two weekends ago, not allowing a single shot on goal for Sacramento State, and assisting on a goal.
- Junior midfielder/forward Jared Martinelli, sophomore defender Robert Sagel and senior goalkeeper Dan Scheck were selected to the Preseason All-American Athletic Conference Team. Scheck was voted by the coaches as the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
- Four freshmen have started all three games for Temple: Tynkkynen, midfielder Miguel Polley, midfielder Felipe Liborio and midfielder Brendon Creed.
- Temple was predicted to finish fifth in the conference by the preseason coaches' poll.
- Since the start of 2013, Scheck has allowed only 14 goals. He is the all-time career goals against average leader (0.60) and ranks tied for fourth in career wins (15).
- Duke comes into the game with a 1-1-1 record. Â The Blue Devils lost their most recent game at American Athletic Conference member SMU 3-1 last Friday.
- Duke was picked to finish fourth in the Coastal Division of the ACC. Â Sean Davis was voted to College Soccer New's Preseason All-America Third Team.
- Duke leads the all-time series 2-0-0. Â The Blue Devils claimed victories in 2004 and 2005 over the Owls.
- The Owls are currently in a four game road trip and won't return home until Sept. 21 for a Philadelphia Soccer Six match against Penn. Â The road trip began at Penn State last Friday, and Temple will head to La Salle (Sept. 13) and Fordham (9/17) next.
- Temple is coming off 10-4-4, 3-1-4 season where they finished fourth in the conference and were named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Champions.
- Sagel and Martinelli were selected to the 2013 all-conference second teams. Sagel was put on the all-freshmen team.
