Temple Mourns Loss of Former Football Star Brian Slade

PHILADELPHIA - Brian Slade, a former RB/TE for the Temple football team, passed away on Wednesday, January 14 after suffering a stroke in November. He was 54.
Slade served primarily as a running back for the Owls from 1980 to 1984, with one year at the tight end position in 1983. As a freshman in 1980, Slade rushed 94 times for 458 yards and two touchdowns, ranking fifth on the list of freshman season rushing leaders. In his four year career, Slade accumulated 1,223 yards rushing on 296 carries and 11 touchdowns; he also had 23 receptions for 154 yards and one touchdown.
