Jackson To Be Inducted to Bucks County Sports Hall of Fame

PHILADELPHIA - Former Temple women's basketball great, Addie Crump Jackson, will be inducted into the Bucks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame as part of the 15-member class of 2015.Â
Jackson, already a member of the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame, is the fifth highest scorer in program history. She was a standout on both offense and defense, playing in 113 games for the Owls, scoring 1,272 points. An excellent outside shooter, Jackson ranked fourth at Temple at the time in career field goals made converting 529 of 1,297 attempts. She was also the third all-time in field goals attempted during her time at Temple.
Jackson led the Atlantic 10 Conference in three point field goal percentage making 40 of 87 attempts (46%) during the 1986-87 season. She had a career-best 30 points in a 1988 victory over Penn, and also had 20 points in Temple's first win ever over Penn State. Only the second woman to score 30 points in a Big Five game, Jackson was inducted into the Big Five Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999.Â
The induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 6 p.m. at Falls Manor Catering, 4010 New Falls Road, Bristol. Ticket information will be posted on the Bucks County chapter's website, www.buckscountysportshof.com in February.
