Men's Basketball Looks To Extend Win Streak Saturday vs. Tulane

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's basketball team will look to extend its win streak to three games when the Owls host Tulane Saturday (Noon/ CBS Sports Network/1210 AM WPHT). Â
It is also parent-child lay-up day with all children 14 and under being allowed to come on the court after the game to shoot a lay-up. Kids' tickets at the box office on game day are $10.
The Owls (14-7, 5-3 American) current two-game win streak coincides with the return of senior guard Will Cummings (13.0 ppg) to the starting lineup. Â Cummings, who ranks among the top 5 in the conference in four categories, missed all or part of Temple's three league losses.Â
Senior guard Jesse Morgan (13.6 ppg) leads the team in scoring and has topped the squad in each of the last four games. Â Junior guard Quenton DeCosey (13.0 ppg) rounds out the trio of Temple scorers that are within one-point of each other for team scoring honors.
Junior forward Jaylen Bond (8.2 ppg, 8.0 rpg) continues to lead the conference in rebounding while junior center Devontae Watson (2.1 ppg), who just missed a double-double at UCF (9 pts, 9 rebs), rounding out the starters.
Sophomore guard Josh Brown (6.4 ppg) leads all reserves in scoring while junior guard Devin Coleman (5.0 ppg) exploded for a season high 14 points on six-of-seven shooting at UCF.
Tulane (13-8. 4-5 American) has struggled of late, losing three straight and four of their last five. Â Three Green Wave players average between 11 and 14 points per game led by junior guard Louis Dabney (13.8 ppg).Â
Sophomore guard Jonathan Stark (11.6 ppg) averages a team-best 4.4 assists.Â
Temple and Tulane are meeting for the sixth time but only the second in just over 18 years. The Owls now lead the series 3-2 after a 64-56 win at Tulane on Jan. 7.
Prior to this season's first meeting, the teams had not faced each other since 1996. The Owls won that contest 67-49 at home (12/9/96).
