LYNCHHBURG, Va. – The Temple women's tennis team continued play at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship on Friday, hosted by Liberty University.
In the main draw of singles, Alina Aburakhimova defeated Towson's Lucy Williams, 6-4, 6-4 to move on to the round of 32 on Saturday; Abdurakhimova will face Old Dominion's Nikol Hristova.
In doubles, Aburakhimova and Yana Khon fell to Marshall's Jackie Carr and Rachael Morales, 8-1.
"It was a tough match up for the girls in doubles, but we're confident that Alina will be able to continue with her success," said head coach Steve Mauro. "She's been playing well in practice and I'm looking for good things from her in this tournament."
