PHILADELPHIA – Election Day may be around the corner in Philadelphia but there's one race Temple fans can vote in now that can affect the national scene. Voting has opened for the Paul Hornung Award and fans can now boost junior running back Jahad Thomas' chances to win by submitting their online ballots. The #21/22 Owls' feature back currently leads the American Athletic Conference in rushing yards and is second in the conference in scoring and touchdowns. Boasting a 100-yard kick return already this season, Thomas' versatility is on display each week as he is currently fourth in the nation with 175.0 all-purpose yards per game. His consistent play and emergence into the workhorse role has propelled Temple to a historic 7-0 start and the first rankings since 1979.

College football fans nationwide have the opportunity to cast their votes online for the Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse and given annually to the most versatile player in major college football. Fans can vote as often as once every 24 hours at paulhornungaward.com. Voting will continue through November 17, 2014. Fans will then have the chance to vote for the winner from among the finalists in a second round of voting in late November.

Thomas and the Owls complete their non-conference schedule with a Halloween match-up against #9/9 Notre Dame. Kickoff on ABC is 8:00 p.m.
