PHILADELPHIA – After proving they belong on the national stage, the Temple football team remained in the top-25 in both the Associated Press (AP) and Amway/USA Today Coaches polls. The Owls dropped two spots, moving to #23 in both polls, following a tight 24-20 loss to #9/9 Notre Dame last night.

Temple carries a national ranking for the third-straight week, marking the first Owls' team in program history to accomplish that feat. Three other Temple teams had spent two weeks in the top-25, the 1936, 1941, and 1979 Owls.

Two weeks ago, Temple made its first appearance
in both polls in 36 years. After breaking in at 22nd in the AP Poll and 24th in the Coaches Poll, Temple had climbed to 21st in the AP and 22nd in the Coaches Poll after a 24-14 win at East Carolina.

The Owls will play their fourth-straight nationally televised prime time game on Friday, traveling to SMU for an American Athletic Conference clash. Kickoff on ESPN2 will be at 8:00 p.m. ET.
