2015 Individual Statistics
As the center for the Temple Owls, Kyle Friend has become the keystone of one of college football's best offensive lines. The Owls have rushed for 153.8 yards per game, up from 107.8 a year ago. The team has 20 rushing touchdowns so far, eight more than their total last season. Jahad Thomas has stepped into the lead back role and has four 100-yard games this season. The unit's sack average is down and their improved blocking has given quarterback P.J. Walker better windows to throw. Walker's interceptions are down significantly. Friend has been the stalwart on the offensive line, starting 41 straight games, the longest streak on the team. Friend suffered an injury vs. Notre Dame and has missed the past two games.Â
          Â
In the class room, Friend excels and sets the bar for his peers. He has the one of the highest GPA among student-athletes on the football team. He is projected to graduate this fall from the Fox School of Business with a degree in business management.Â
Please vote for Friend when filling out your ballots for the All-American team and the Rimington Award.
