Football's Young Accepts Invitation to Senior Bowl

PHILADELPHIA - Senior defensive back Tavon Young of the #24 Temple Owls has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl next month. He will join his teammates, Bronko Nagurski Trophy winner Tyler Matakevich and defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis in the game.
Young finished his senior campaign with 40 tackles, five for loss, with a sack and seven pass breakups. Last season, he led the conference with 153 interception yards off of a team-leading four picks. His leadership helped the Owls to a 10-3 record and the American Athletic Conference's East Division crown.
The Reese's Senior Bowl invites the top 110 seniors and fourth-year junior graduates to participate in its practices, interview sessions and game. The Reese's Senior Bowl will kickoff at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016, in Mobile, Ala.
Young and the Owls will head to Florida to face former MAC rival Toledo in the Marmot Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday, December 22nd. Kickoff is 7:00 p.m. and will air nationally on ESPN. For tickets and package information, visit owlstix.com.
