Lacrosse Game at Wagner Moved to 4:00 PM; Owls on Spring Break in New York

NEW YORK - Spring Break is in New York for Temple lacrosse in 2015, as the Owls have traveled north to take on Wagner and Iona this week while also taking in some sights of the city. Temple (4-1) will play at Wagner (2-3) on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (hour change from original schedule) and will head to Iona (2-2) for a 3:00 p.m. contest on Friday.
The team will spend a total of four nights in New York after leaving Temple on Monday, and the Owls took some time Tuesday to tour the sights of Manhattan including the 9/11 Memorial. Follow the link below to see a short video clip of the team at the site.
Temple is off to a strong start to its season with four wins in five games, and the Owls are coming off a big, 17-7 home win against Lafayette on Feb. 28. Junior Nicole Tiernan recorded her second straight hat trick with three goals in the game, and she leads the team with 10 goals so far this season. Close behind is freshman Nicole Barretta with seven goals, with Tiernan and Barretta being just two of 11 total players with three or more goals for Temple so far this season.
The Owls played three of their first five games at home, with the other two being nearby at Saint Joseph's and La Salle, but will now play four in a row on the road. They return home to host Denver on Friday, March 20 in their final non-conference game of the season before hosting #4 Florida in the BIG EAST opener on Saturday, March 28.
Wagner is 2-3 to start the year, and is coming off a tough, 13-12 sudden death double overtime loss at Saint Joseph's. Iona has gone 2-2 so far, and the Gaels' game against Temple will be the fourth of five straight home contests.
