Countdown to Spring Game - Practice #11

PHILADELPHIA -- The Owls practiced today, wrapping up their 11th of 15 spring sessions.
Junior LB Stephaun Marshall shined for the defense coming up with two interceptions. "He's had a great spring," said head coach Matt Rhule. "He's a converted safety who is getting more and more comfortable….He's really competing to be a great player for us."
The spring is a time for coaches to get players better at their current positions, but also a time to move some players around to see if their skill set could be better utilized at a different position. Rhule talked about the transition that Cody Booth made just two years ago from tight end to tackle – and he is now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last season redshirt sophomore Brian Carter made the transition from defensive line to the offensive side of the ball. "I expect him to be all-conference," added Rhule. "He's physical, he's dominant. He's getting better….he has the right mentality."
The next practice will take place on Saturday, April 18. The annual Cherry & White Game will kickoff at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, on Chodoff Field at Edberg Olson Hall.
The Cherry & White game will be part of Alumni Weekend on the campus of Temple University. Fans will have the opportunity to declare their allegiance by choosing Team Cherry or Team White. Fans of each team can display their allegiance by wearing a free t-shirt given to the first 500 fans of each team. At the end of the game, the winning team's fans will get a special prize.

- Gates will open at Noon, and admission is free to the public.
- Get there early for the Street Fair – taking place on Diamond Street (between 10th and 11th) beginning at 11 a.m. – for music, food, clowns, face painters and more!
- Temple Athletics gear will be available for purchase including jerseys, t-shirts and more during the Street Fair! Please note all sales are cash only.
- The first public sale of 2015 Temple Football season tickets will take place on site at the Cherry & White game.
- No chairs of any kind will be allowed inside the gates of the Edberg-Olson Football Complex for the Spring Game. Limited bleacher seating will be available for fans.
