Football Learns Fine Points of Dining Etiquette

7.30.15 | Football

The last day of summer workouts brought a unique lesson for the 2015 Temple Owls football team. Coach Matt Rhule brought in an etiquette coach to teach the young men about fine dining and professional behavior. Student-athletes learned about which utensil to use for each course, how to greet new people with a handshake, and even how small to cut food. For those used to dining halls and training tables, it was a lesson for the future. The Owls have spent a lot of time preparing for the football season but hope this particular team session can be displayed at bowl game dinners and award banquets.

Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Mike Jensen provided a tableside account of the afternoon lunch.
