Lacrosse Recognized by IWLCA for the Ninth Straight Season

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Temple lacrosse is one of 85 Division I teams to be recognized as an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). The Owls have now earned Academic Squad distinction for the ninth straight year.Â
The IWLCA recognized 85 teams for the 2014-15 school year for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.Â
Individual student-athletes will also be recognized in the coming days with mention on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Two of those honorees will be Krissy Gallivan and Jaqi Kakalecik, who were recently honored at Temple's annual Breakfast of Champions as members of the Trustee Ten. That honor goes to the 10 student-athletes who have the highest GPA's in the entire department. Kakalecik and Nicole Tiernan were also named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Lacrosse Team.
The lacrosse team as a whole earned The Owl Trophy at the Breakfast of Champions, given each year to the team with the highest GPA in the department. Lacrosse had a combined GPA of 3.51 at that time, and went on to record an impressive team GPA of 3.56 for the spring semester.
