Temple Enhances Fan Experience for Football

8.24.15 | Football

PHILADELPHIA - As students and faculty return to campus to start the 2015 school year, Temple fans are getting ready for the return of Owls football at Lincoln Financial Field. While head coach Matt Rhule looks to bring the team to the top of the American Athletic Conference, fans will have plenty to look forward to before kickoff. This season, fans can enjoy family activities, live music, and a pre-game show in addition to using their smartphones to access exclusive experiences during the game.

Gamedays at Lincoln Financial Field are always exciting and Owls fans will have even more fun before the Owls line up on Saturdays. The littlest fans can enjoy the new Kids Zone at the top of the stairs by the Xfinity Gate. There will be inflatable attractions, clowns, face painters, arts and crafts, and more. For the fans who want to get the best insights before heading into the Linc, stop by Lot K where Harry Mayes, of 97.5 The Fanatic, will host a live pre-game show streamed on owlsports.com before he heads over to his sideline reporting role during the radio broadcasts. And for three games this season - Tulane, UCF, and Memphis - the parking lot will be rocking to live music from local bands by the Northeast Gate leading up to kickoff.

Fans with smartphones can maximize their experience with social media and fan engagement apps. All Owls fans should download the CHERRY CONNECT App (connect.owlsports.com), updated for this season. It's the best way to follow the team with live scores, updates, trivia contests for great prizes, and the hottest gear in the team store. In addition, fans can use the new Experience App (owlsports.com/upgrade) to upgrade their game days with one click. Experiences this season include the opportunity to meet Hooter the Owl, take a picture with Stella, sit in the radio booth for a quarter, and more! Make sure to show your Temple pride by posting pictures and tweets with hashtags like WeTheT and TUFB. You could see your words and face on the big scoreboard at the Linc.

Temple football giveaways this season include a magnet/key ring schedule for the first 10,000 fans to enter the gates on September 5 and a fleece headband courtesy of Jack Frost/Big Boulder for the first 2,000 fans on November 21. Additional giveaways will be announced at a later date.

Temple opens the season with a game against Penn State on September 5. The Owls return home for three games in October – Tulane (10/10), UCF (10/17), and Notre Dame (10/31) – and close out the regular season with Memphis (11/21) and UConn (11/28).

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Temple Ticket Sales Office at 215-204-8499.  Visit owlstix.com for more information.
