PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Erin Lafferty was named Defensive Player of the Week by the American Athletic Conference for the week ending on September 14.

In a perfect 2-0 weekend for the Owls, Lafferty was one of the stars on the field. On Friday, Lafferty helped lead a strong defensive unit in Temple's 4-0 shutout of New Hampshire and also recorded an assist.

On Sunday, Lafferty recorded her second multi-goal game of the season, sending two shots into the net in the Owls' 4-1 win over Binghamton. In the 32nd minute of the game, Lafferty lined up at the midfield line for a free kick. After sending the ball over the heads of everyone on the field, it took a hop behind Binghamton's Katie Hatziyianis and went directly into the left corner of the goal to give the Owls the 2-0 lead. Lafferty's second goal came on penalty kick in the 76th minute.

Also for the Owls, senior Kelly Farrell was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second week in a row. Farrell picked up three goals (two against New Hampshire and one against Binghamton) for a conference-leading eight goals. She also added one assist.
