Men's Soccer Set to Face Delaware in Midweek Matchup

9.29.15 | Men's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's soccer team hits the road for a non-conference match up against the Delaware Blue Hens Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The Owls look to bounce back at Delaware's Grant Stadium following their first loss of the season against Cincinnati on Saturday, Sept. 26.

The Owls stand at 7-1-1 for the season and hold the best record in the American Athletic Conference. Leading the nation in points is junior Jorge Gomez Sanchez, who logged his 11th goal and third assist during Saturday's match. Gomez Sanchez, along with junior Matt Mahoney and freshman Belal Mohamed, each earned a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll for their efforts against La Salle and Cincinnati.

The Delware Blue Hens host the Owls with a 3-5-1 record on their 2015 campaign. The Blue Hens are coming off a conference loss to #8 Elon and are led by junior captain Guillermo Delgado. Delgado has logged four goals and one assist through the Blue Hens' nine matches.

Delaware was able to shut out Temple in their 2014 matchup, scoring three goals to secure a victory. In the overall series between the two squads, the Owls lead 32-10-6.
