Men's Cross Country Falls Short at Paul Short Run

10.1.16 | Men's Cross Country

Bethlehem, Pa. – Temple men's cross country competed at the 43rd annual Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Saturday morning. Despite high expectations for the team's performance, the high caliber field got the best of the Owls as they finished the Men's Gold 8K in 27th place overall out of 38 teams.

Graduate student Marc Steinsberger was Temple's top finisher. Steinsberger finished the 8K in 24:31, placing 61st among the large and talented field.

"I am disappointed in how the men raced today," said head coach James Snyder. "All week we have been talking about the importance of running tightly together. Today, the wheels kind of fell off and we started to separate and lose track of each other. In a race of this size with so much great competition, a team has to be able to connect to find success."

Men's cross country will next compete at the Jack St. Clair Invitational on Oct. 8 at Belmont Plateau.
