Men's Soccer Hosts Delaware in 2016 Non-Conference Finale

PHILADELPHIA – Opening up a three-game home stand, Temple men' soccer will welcome the Delaware Blue Hens on Tuesday afternoon for its non-conference finale. The Owls look to remain unbeaten at the Temple Sports Complex with the 3 p.m. match.
Tuesday's match will also host Temple men's soccer's Most Valuable Professor's Recognition ceremony.
Heading into the game, the Owls are holding an 8-5-1 record and return home after a three-game road series with a 1-2 record including a conference loss to Cincinnati on Saturday.
The Owls are now looking to find the back of the net for the first time in two games and last saw a win against SMU on Oct. 8. Jorge Gomez Sanchez scored the lone goal in the match and helped the Owls to their first ever program victory against the Mustangs.
In the conference, the Owls stand in a tie for third. There is currently a three-way tie for first between UConn, Cincinnati and USF who all hold a 3-1 conference record. Tulsa stands in second at 2-2 and will come to Philadelphia on Saturday to face the Owls.

Delaware enters Tuesday's match with a 9-4-2 overall record coming off a 3-0 CAA victory over the College of Charleston. The Blue Hens stand second in the CAA with a 4-2 record.
Guillermo Delgado stands as the team's scoring leader with eight goals and seven assists for a total of 23 points on the season.
Todd Morton has been the Blue Hens' starting goalkeeper in all 14 matches of the 2-16 campaign and has allowed 12 goals with a saves percentage of .806.
The Owls lead the all-time series over Delaware 32-10-7. In 2015, Temple visited Newark and ended the midweek matchup in a 0-0 draw.
