Sharga Named Academic All-District

PHILADELPHIA- Junior fullback Nick Sharga has been named to the Academic All-District list for his accomplishments in the classroom this semester. The Cherryville, Penn., native holds a 3.86 GPA as a kinesiology major and has also appeared in all ten games this season, making three starts.
With 11 carries for 44 yards, including eight first down conversions, Sharga's contribution cannot be measured by his own statistics. The fullback has delivered bone-crushing body blows to defenders opening holes for the Owls' two-headed monster at running back. Temple has averaged 184.5 yards on the ground with 22 touchdowns. Senior Jahad Thomas (135-647-9TDs) and sophomore Ryquell Armstead (129-807-11TDs) have led the way becoming the only FBS teammates to rush for nine-or-more touchdowns each. Armstead has topped the100-yard plateau three times (including a 200-yard performance) and Thomas has a pair.
The Owls will next take on conference opponent Tulane in two weeks in a road matchup. The game will take place on November 19; kickoff and broadcast information remain TBD.
