PHILADELPHIA – Temple head football coach Matt Rhule has announced the following promotions to the football coaching staff.

Francis Brown: Associate Head Coach/Defensive Backs
George DeLeone: Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line
Ed Foley: Assistant Head Coach/Tight Ends/Special Teams Coordinator
Frisman Jackson: Passing Game Coordinator/Wide Receivers
Elijah Robinson: Defensive Run Game Coordinator/Defensive Line
Mike Siravo: Defensive Passing Game Coordinator/Linebackers/Recruiting Coordinator
Phil Snow: Defensive Coordinator/Safeties
Glenn Thomas: Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks
Chris Wiesehan: Senior Offensive Assistant/Running Backs

Brown, Foley, Siravo, and Snow were part of Rhule's initial staff when he was hired to be the head coach for the 2013 season. Wiesehan joined the staff in 2014. Jackson and Thomas were added in 2015. Joining the staff this season is 46-year coaching veteran George DeLeone.

A vacancy was created last month when Marcus Satterfield, the Owls offensive coordinator and running back coach, left to become head coach at Tennessee Tech.

"I am proud of this coaching staff for what they do for Temple on and off the football field," said Rhule. "They are all excellent teachers, recruiters, and most of all, good family men. There is a great chemistry among the group that sets the tone for our student-athletes. Having worked with George before, I'm certain that he will fit right in with the staff and be a tremendous addition as one of the best offensive line coaches in the country."

This will be DeLeone second stint with the Owls. He was originally on Temple's staff from 2006-07. During that time he was the Owls' offensive coordinator and worked with the quarterbacks ('06) and offensive line ('07). Rhule was a Temple assistant on defense in 2006 but moved to quarterback coach in 2007.

The 67-year old DeLeon re-joins Temple after spending the past two seasons with the Cleveland Browns coaching their offensive line. This season the Browns had two Pro Bowl players – both offensive linemen – C Alex Mack and LT Joe Thomas.

The New Haven, Connecticut, native began his coaching career at Southern Connecticut in 1970, coaching the offensive line for six years before becoming head coach from 1976–79. He moved to Rutgers as the defensive line coach in 1980, became defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for two seasons, before becoming offensive coordinator and special teams coach for his final year. He spent 1984 as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Holy Cross. He then began his first of two stints at Syracuse in 1985 where he coached the offensive line for 12 years, serving as offensive coordinator for the final 10 seasons.

DeLeone joined the NFL for the first time in 1997 as the San Diego Chargers offensive line coach but after one year returned to Syracuse for another seven seasons. During that time, he was associate head coach and defensive coordinator ('98) before becoming associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 1999. For the next five years, DeLeone was associate head coach, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

In 2005, DeLeone was the running game coordinator and offensive line coach at Ole Miss. He then came to Temple for a two-year stint with the Owls.

Since leaving Philadelphia, DeLeone coached tight ends for the Miami Dolphins for three seasons; worked at UConn, his alma mater, from 2011–13, serving as the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach for the first two years before becoming associate head coach and offensive line coach in 2013; he then spent 2014-15 with the Browns.
