PHILADELPHIA – Taking advantage of the sunny weather, the Temple women's tennis team returned to the TU Pavilion on Friday as they defeated Binghamton, 7-0.

The Owls swept in doubles play, with Yana Khon and Anais Nussaume taking down Agatha Ambrozy and Olga Ostrovetsky in a shutout at the second flight.

In singles, Nussaume defeated Ambrozy, 6-1, 6-4 at the third flight. Khon picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at the second flight over Annie DiMuro. Mariana Bedon wrapped up the win for Temple with a 6-0, 6-4 win at the sixth flight over Ostrovetsky.

Dina Karina, Alina Abdurakhimova, and Minami Okajima also picked up wins at the fifth, first and fourth flights, respectively.

"The ladies played extremely well today. It was really nice to be able to get back onto our home court," said head coach Steve Mauro. "The girls played well in both singles and doubles, so hopefully we can continue that into our match tomorrow."

The Owls move to 6-4 on the season and will face Marist at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
