ARLINGTON, TX – The Temple women's tennis team dropped a road match to UT Arlington, 6-1 on Thursday, March 3.

The Mavs started out with a quick 1-0 lead as they swept the Owls in the doubles point, with Elizabeth Thoms and Angeles de los Rios shutting out Alina Abdurakhimova and Dina Karina, 6-0 at the first flight.

In singles, Yana Khon was the only Owl to pick up a win as she defeated Astrid Gehre, 6-1, 6-4 at fourth flight. Mariana Bedon was the only player to take her flight into three sets, ultimately dropping to Luxizi Meng, 6-2, 6-7, 1-0 at the sixth flight.

The Owls move to 5-3 on the season and will stay in Texas as they face Abilene Christian on Friday.
