Rimington Award Places McGowan on Preseason Watch List
7.5.16 | Football
NEW YORK -- Temple graduate student Brendan McGowan has been named to the Rimington Trophy Committee's 2016 Spring Watch List, which includes the 50 best centers in Division I football. The athletes included on the list have demonstrated excellence at the center position in the past and are predicted to do so again for the 2016 season.
McGowan (6-3, 298) is a three-year letter winner for the Owls. He started four games at center in 2015, backing up Kyle Friend, who recently signed a free agent contract with the New York Jets. McGowan played in five total contests last season, including seeing time against #9 Notre Dame. The three-time conference All-Academic selection has played 23 career games for the Owls, also making 11 starts at right guard.
