Women's Tennis Sweeps Morgan State on Day One of VCU Invite

RICHMOND, Va. – In its opening match of the invitational, Temple women's tennis posted a sweep of the Morgan State Bears. Junior Yana Khon now stands 3-0 in her singles performances in the 2017 season.

Dina Karina and Mariana Bedon took on Yvonne Peters-Washington and Chloe Kabamba to come out with a 6-3, 7-6(3) victory in the doubles matchup.

Alina Abdurakhimova stepped up in the number one singles spot posting a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over the Bears' Katia Jordan. Money Stuckey-Willis faced Danielle Thompson and fought through for a 6-3, (5)6-7, 10-3 win. Khon wrapped up with a 7-6(7), 6-0 defeat of MSU's Kayla Price.

The Owls will play two more matches tomorrow against hosting VCU and Longwood University to wrap up their play at the VCU 4-1 Invite.
