Temple Adds Two Freshmen as Early January Enrollees

PHILADELPHIATemple University announced that Todd Centeio and Casey Williams have joined the football team and have begun classes. Both will be eligible to participate in spring practices with the Owls in 2017.

Centeio (6-0, 205) is a native of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where he attended William T. Dwyer High. He played quarterback for head coach Jack Daniels and threw for 2,344 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2016. During that senior season, he earned first-team Palm Beach Football 8A-6A, Sun Sentinel honors, and was a Lou Groza Award finalist. He was also a two-time Sun Sentinel Super 11 pick. Prior to his time at Dwyer, he spent two seasons at Royal Palm Beach High where he recorded over 2,000 passing yards and 27 touchdowns.

Williams (6-3, 220) was a four-year letterwinner at linebacker and running back for head coach Frank Natale at South Philadelphia High. He projects as a linebacker for the Owls. Williams was selected to play in the Philadelphia City All-Star Game after his senior season, where he scored two rushing touchdowns and recorded 15 tackles. He also starred in basketball and track and field. He was born at Temple University Hospital.
