10.5.17 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country

PHILADELPHIA – On Saturday, Temple men's and women's cross country will compete at the 10th annual Jack St. Clair Memorial Invitational, honoring former Temple cross country coach, Jack Saint Clair. The women's race is set for 12:15 p.m. and the men's race will follow at 1:15 p.m.

Scouting Men's Cross Country
> The Owls head into this week ranked No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The ranking is the highest the team has reached in weekly polls since 2012 when the squad saw the No. 8 spot during week six.
> Freshman Kristian Jensen was Temple's top finisher last week at Joe Piane Invitational. He snatched an outstanding performance finishing sixth overall in provably the most competitive field the team has raced this season.
> The squad's No. 2 runner at Notre Dame was freshman Anton Harrsen, who finished the race in 25:00.3 to place 11th. Graduate student Marc Steinsberger crossed the finish line next for the Owls in 17th place (25:10.7). Sophomore Kevin Lapsansky rounded out the Owls' top five with a 19th-place finish (25:17.6).
> Scoring four runners in the top 20 in the Men's 5 Mile Gold race gave the team its third first place team finish.

Scouting Women's Cross Country
> The women's team will enter Saturday's race ranked No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the USTFCCCA, two places better than last week at Notre Dame. This is the team's highest ranking of the season. The last time Temple women's cross country ranked No. 8 in the region was in week six of the 2012 season.
> Sophomore Grace Moore was Temple's top finisher at the Joe Piane Invitational on Sept. 29, completing the 5K in personal record of 17:29.2. Moore finished 7th overall, leading Temple to accomplish a great second-place team finish.
> At the Rider Invitational on Sept. 15, the squad earned a perfect score, finishing seven runners in the top 10.
