Women's Cross Country Competes at 10th Annual Jack St. Clair Memorial Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's cross country ran in the 10th annual Jack St. Clair Memorial Invitational on Saturday at Belmont Plateau. Three student-athletes competed for the Owls: freshmen Mckenzie Gelvin and Kerry Kovacs, and junior Ashton Dunkley.

Keys to the Race
> The Jack St. Clair Memorial Invitational was the first-every cross country race for Gelvin, a middle distance runner.
> Dunkley was the squad's top finisher in sixth place. The junior finished the 6K in 25:49.2.
> Next to cross the finish line for Temple Kovacs in eighth place with a time of 26:05.9
> Gelvin finished her first 6K race with the Owls in 27:30.8.

Race Notes
>   From 1976-1983 Jack Saint Clair served as the head coach of cross country and track and field at Temple University where he compiled a 104-32-1 record in Track & Field. Saint Clair is credited as the Belmont Plateau cross country course designer  (along with Lou Nicastro/Saint Joes, Frank Wetzler/LaSalle and Jim Tuppeny/Penn & Villanova).
