Kevin Addison Named Associate Director of Athletic Training

PHILADELPHIA – Kevin Addison, who has served as the head athletic trainer at three different institutions over the last decade, has been named the Associate Director of Athletic Training at Temple University.
"We are fortunate to have a person of Kevin's experience and expertise join the Temple Sports Medicine Staff," said Director of Athletic Training Al Bellamy. "He has demonstrated a professionalism and quality of care for student-athletes that we pride ourselves in at Temple. His presence will ensure that our student-athletes health care needs will be remain at a high level."
Addison spent the last seven years as the head athletic trainer at Hampton University. There he was responsible for the care and prevention of injuries, primarily for the football and men's basketball programs, while also overseeing the assistant athletic training staff. He also developed and implemented a policy and procedures manual for the Sports Medicine department.
"I want to thank Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft, Executive AD Mary McElroy and Al Bellamy for entrusting me with the care of Temple's student-athletes," said Addison. "I am looking forward to working with them, and all of the athletic training staff, medical doctors and Temple's student-athletes in the prevention and treatment of injuries."
Prior to his position at Hampton, Addison served two years (2008-10) as the head athletic trainer at Birmingham Southern College. Before that, he was the head athletic trainer at Coker College in Huntsville, S.C. from 2007-08. He also interned in the summer with two NFL franchises, the Indianapolis Colts (2004) and the Atlanta Falcons (2005 & 2006).
Addison earned his master's degree in sports management from George Washington University ('07) with his bachelor's degree in athletic training coming from the University of South Carolina ('04).
A native of Blythewood, S.C., Addison is a member of both the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Southeastern Athletic Trainers Association.
