Cross Country Nodded for All-Academic Honors by USTFCCCA
2.10.17 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
PHILADELPHIA – On Thursday, USTFCCCA released its list of 2016 NCAA Division I All-Academic cross country teams. Temple men's and women's cross country earned all-academic team honors with cumulative GPA's of 3.45 and 3.47, respectively.
Overall, there were 431 teams that earned distinction from the USTFCCCA for their efforts both athletically and academically. Of those 431 teams, 242 were women's and 189 were men's. No team held down a perfect 4.0 GPA during the XC season, but the highest billed teams were the Georgia State University women (3.85) and the men of Bowling Green State University (3.71).
"Awards like these are a total team effort and are indicative of the hard-working young men and women we have in our program," said head coach James Snyder. "From the support we receive from our administration along with the resources available in the Resnick Center our student-athletes are well prepared to be successful in the classroom here at Temple. I would be remiss not to acknowledge our team's academic advisor, Nick Plack, for his continued efforts and mentorship of the young men and women on our cross country teams."
Looking ahead, Temple men's and women's cross country strive to continue to reach success on the trails and in the classroom.
