ARLINGTON, Va. – In a mid-week matchup against the Georgetown Hoyas, Temple women's tennis fell 1-6 to a powerful lineup from the hosting opponents. Alina Abdurakhimova and Dina Karina added a third doubles victory to their season despite falling in their singles matchups.

The win from Abdurakhimova and Karina came in the second doubles position against Hoya duo Sydney Goodson and Sara Swift with a final score of 6-2. Monet Stuckey-Willis and Yana Khon led off the doubles with a 6-2 loss against Victoire Saperstein and Risa Nakagawa. Anais Nassaume and Mariana Bedon played the final doubles round, falling to Casey Marx and Drew Spinosa, 6-4.

Khon was able to pick up a singles win after both Abdurakhimova and Stuckey-Willis dropped their matches in the first and second positions. Khon faced Goodson and topped the Hoya sophomore, 6-0, 6-0. Karina, Nussaume and Bedon rounded out the singles lineup.

The Owls will return home for their American Athletic Conference opener against UConn on Saturday. The match is set for 5:30 p.m.
