Men's Tennis Posts 2-0 Weekend With Win Over Saint Francis

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's tennis moved to 2-0 on its weekend with a 6-1 victory over Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon. The Owls took two of three doubles flights and all but one singles flight inside the Aquatic Fitness Center to secure the victory.
Florian Mayer and Vineet Naran posted a strong win in the first doubles position, topping Rodrigo Tico and Alec D. Foo-Kune, 6-1. After a miss from Thomas Sevel and Artem Kapshuk, Uladzimir Dorash and Francisco Bohorquez topped Plamen Avuski and Arturo Dell'eva, 6-4.
Singles play was led off with a tough-fought win from Kapshuk and followed up with wins from Sevel, Dorash, Bohorquez and Eric Biscoveanu.
Overall, Temple now stands 6-6 overall in its 2017 campaign. The Owls will return to the courts on Wednesday, March 1 to take on local-rival Drexel. The match is set to begin at 9 a.m. inside Legacy Tennis Center.
