Women's Tennis Wins Big Over Saint Franics

PHILADELPHIA – Bouncing back from a dropped match on Friday night, Temple women's tennis picked up a big 6-1 victory over Saint Francis on Saturday afternoon. The Owls now stand 7-5 overall in their 2017 dual campaign.
The Owls were able to sweep all three doubles flights, led by a big win from Alina Abdurakhimova and Dina Karina against Stephanie Miller and Laura Gutierrez. Monet Stuckey-Willis and Yana Khon added a second doubles win to their weekend and were followed by an automatic victory from Annais Nussaume and Marian Bedon.
In singles play, Abdurakhimova and Stuckey-Willis posted two wins and the first and second positions to lead things off. Karina, Cecilia Castelli and Bedon all added singles wins of their own to secure the near-shutout.
Temple is back to match play on Wednesday, March 1 with a Philadelphia dual against Drexel. The match is set to begin at 9 a.m. at Legacy Tennis Center.
