Men's Tennis Sweeps Double Header Over Delaware & Rider

PHILADELPHIA – In its first of two dual matches today, Temple men's tennis picked up a 5-0 win over Delaware. The win came through a surge of four singles wins and marked the Owls' 15th overall win for the season.
The two Owl duos of Artem Kapshuk and Thomas Sevel and Francisco Bohorquez and Uladzimir Dorash all captured wins against Blue Hens pairs to open the dual in doubles play. Vineet Naran and Florian Mayer also played in Owls doubles play but they did not finish their match.
Kapshuk opened up the singles play and defeated Laurenz Lankes 6-3, 6-0 to kick off a solid Owl lineup. His win was followed up by wins from Sevel, Bohorquez and Eric Biscoveanu.
In its second of two duals for the day, Temple men's tennis added a 7-0 victory over the Rider Broncs. The Owls were able to sweep the Broncs in singles and doubles play to post their third consecutive win heading in their final weekend of regular-season play.
Kapshuk continued his success on the day with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Chris Popso in the opening singles position. Mayer, Sevel, Dorash, Bohorquez, and Biscoveanu all added victories in the singles rally to close out a 2-0 day for the team.
The Owls now stand 16-9 overall and return to action this Saturday, April 15 for Senior Day at TU Pavilion to face off in a dual with Lehigh. The match is set to begin at 11 a.m.
