PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple volleyball team will close out its non-conference slate on Friday at Villanova at 7:00 p.m. The 4-3 Owls are looking for their fourth straight win.

LAST TIME OUT
> Hurricane Irma shortened Temple's Cherry and White Challenge, but the Owls made an impact in their only game of the "tournament," a 3-0 sweep over Boston College.
> Izzy Rapacz and Irem Asci were named to the All-Tournament team.
> Rapacz hit .611 against Boston College, recording 11 kills on 18 attempts without an error.
> Asci tallied a double-double with 11 kills and a match-high 10 digs.
> Dana Westfield tallied nine digs and a pair of blocks, while Kyra Coundourides notched 18 assists.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Rapacz leads the team with 3.00 kills per set, with a team-high 1.62 blocks per set.
> Asci averages 2.50 kills and 2.17 digs per set.
> Westfield contributes 2.50 kills per frame to round out the top pin hitters.
> Janine Simmons (1.58 kills/set) and Iva Deak (1.24 kills/set) shore up the middle for the Owls.
> Kyra Coundourides averages 6.96 assists per set, while Hannah Vandegrift adds 4.00 per set.
> Heirakuji tops the Owls' defense with 3.46 digs per set, while senior Dara Peric adds 2.52 per frame.
> As a team, the Owls hit .231, holding opponents to a .167 attack.

BLOCK PARTY
> Temple is eighth in the nation as a team in blocks per set, averaging 3.19.
> Individually, Rapacz (1.62/set), Simmons (1.46/set), and Deak (1.38/set) are one, two, and three in the conference in the category.
> Rapacz's per set average is 11th in the nation, while Simmons and Deak are both in the top 50.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
> Villanova is 6-4, most recently falling 3-0 to Lehigh.
> The Wildcats are led offensively by Mallory Potts (3.32 kills/set) and Allie Loitz (3.26 kills/set).
> Amanda Pederson-Henry (2.65 kills/set) and Darcy Wolf (2.36 kills/set) also aid the Villanova attack.
> Emma Decker is the primary setter, averaging 10.47 assists per frame with 2.00 digs per set.
> Defensively, Regan Lough tops the team with 3.76 digs per set.
> As a team, Villanova hits .219, allowing opponents to hit at a .207 clip.

THE SERIES
> Temple holds a 24-18 lead in the all-time series, which dates back to 1986.
> The Owls won the last meeting, a 3-0 win on September 16, 2016 to win the Philadelphia Big 5 title.

COMMON OPPONENTS
> Temple and Villanova have one common opponent so far this season -- Albany.
> Both teams swept the Great Danes, with Temple winning 25-15, 25-15, and 25-12, and Villanova winning 25-16, 25-23, and 25-23.
