Women’s Soccer Looks for Third Straight Win at Towson

Philadelphia- Temple women's soccer will look for its third win in a row as the Owls take on Towson Friday, Sept. 15 with a 3:00 p.m. start time.

Scouting the Owls
> The Owls enter this week with a 3-3 record. They won their last two games at home (3-1 vs. Rider, 2-0 vs. Mount St. Mary's).
 
> Freshman midfielder Emma Wilkins and junior midfielder Kerri McGinley are tied for the team lead in points with five. Both have two goals and one assist.
 
 > In goal, the Owls have sophomore Morgan Basileo and junior Jordan Nash.  Basileo won her first two starts over Rider (3-1) and Mount St. Mary's (2-0) for her first shutout. She was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week of Sept. 4 for her play. Nash is a returning goalkeeper who has a combined 38 starts and 211 saves.
 
> Temple is relying on its senior leadership this season. Senior forward Gabriella McKeown who is tied for the team lead with two goals and has four total points. Senior midfielder Elana Falcone adds vital leadership as she has 21 career points.
 
>Temple has had an assist on six of its nine goals this season (.666). Both sophomore midfielder Emily Keitel and redshirt senior forward Kayla Cunningham lead the team with two assists each.
 
> The freshmen have stepped in a big way for the Owls early this year. The Owls have seen four freshman start at least one game and seven out of the eight have seen action in at least one game. Both Dolan and Wilkins have received an American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll mention as well.
 
Scouting the Tigers
>The Tigers are 3-4-1 this season after falling to George Washington 1-0 on Sept. 10. 
 
>The Tigers are led by head coach Greg Paynter who is in his 11th year with the program.
 
>McKenzie McCaull leads the team with seven points this season. Maddie Bove also has two goals and two assists so far this season.
 
>Taylor Seboloa has been the lone goalkeeper for the Tigers this season. In her seven starts, she has 46 saves and three shutouts.
 
Series History vs. Towson
>Temple trails Towson 1-3-0 in all-time series. Temple lost the last contest at home vs. the Tigers 1-0 last year.
