Basileo and Wilkins Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference announced today that freshman midfielder Emma Wilkins and sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Basileo were named to the league's weekly honor roll for their play this past week in matches vs. Rider and Mount St. Mary's.

Wilkins had two goals in Temple's 3-1 win Thursday over Rider and an assist in the Owls' 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary's Sunday. The Galloway, N.J. native is also now tied for the team lead of five points with junior Kerri McGinley.

Basileo earned her first two career starts and recorded one shutout and 11 saves over the weekend in victories over Rider (3-1) and Mount St. Mary's (2-0).

The two helped the Owls get back-to-back wins for the first time since November, 2015. Temple has started off the season with a 3-3 record and is off for 11 days before traveling to Towson to take on the Tigers on Sept. 15th with a 3:00 pm start time.
