Men's Basketball Travels to SMU on Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's basketball will play its second straight game on the road, traveling to SMU (12-5, 2-2) for a 9 p.m. (EST) contest on Wednesday, Jan. 10 (CBSSN / 1210 AM WPHT). The Owls (7-8, 0-4) are looking to stop a five-game skid and earn their first American Athletic Conference win.
Scouting Temple
> Temple is looking for its first American Athletic Conference win and has lost five straight, its longest losing streak since the 2013-14 season.
> The Owls suffered back-to-back close losses to Houston (76-73) and #19/20 Cincinnati (55-53) before falling 60-39 at UCF. Temple shot just 32 percent, tying its season low, and went over 10 minutes without a point in the second half.
> Freshman Nate Pierre-Louis has been a bright spot for the Owls, and is the second-leading scorer in conference games with 10.3 ppg. Pierre-Louis was Temple's leading scorer at UCF with 13 points in just 18 minutes of action.
> The Owls led for the vast majority of their game vs. Cincinnati, but the Bearcats surged in the final minutes and got a last-second long jumper from Jacob Evans for the win. > Sophomore Quinton Rose is the Owls' leading scorer with 14.5 ppg, ranking 11th in the league. Junior Shizz Alston, Jr. is close behind at 14.1 ppg (12th in the AAC), and he is tied for first among all players in the conference with a free-throw percentage of .914.
