Game-Day Events
> Senior Night: Each year, Temple is proud to have student-athletes who represent the University proudly through their hard work in the classroom and here on the pitch. On Saturday, we will honor Jamie Pick, Hermann Doerner, Aaron Laranetto, Belal Mohamed, Jordan Wix Rauch and Robin Goetz, recognizing them for all they have done for the men's soccer program here at Temple.
> Miracle Family: HootaThon is a year round organization that raises funds and awareness for the Child Life Department at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Last Time Out
> The Owls are coming off of a 110 minute scoreless draw on a chilly Tuesday night against the Penn Quakers. Despite generating multiple scoring opportunities, neither team could find the back of the night against their local Philly rival.
> Defensive efforts by the back line of Tyler Gainer, Pierre Cayet, Pick and Zach Brown along with six saves by Simon Lefebvre earned the Owls their fourth blank sheet of the season.
Scouting the Owls
> Temple enters the match with an overall record of 4-8-4, earning a 1-3-1 tab in American Athletic Conference play. The conference win for the Owls came over a nationally recognized UCF squad on Sept. 21, when Temple upset the Knights and shut out one of the best players and offenses in the country.
> Every one of Temple's losses have been by a one goal deficit this season, illustrating how tight the competition has been in each of these games. Three losses came from golden goals in overtime play, and the most recent came in the last two minutes of regulation. The score sheet has not been an accurate representation of the talented Temple squad this season, who has competed indefinitely in each of their 15 games.
> Junior Lukas Fernandes has been a consistent offensive threat for the Owls, as he leads the team in points (14), goals (5) and assists (4). Freshman Jalen Campbell has worked his way into the second spot on the score sheet for Temple, contributing seven points from two goals and three assists so far in his freshman campaign. Elias Hellgren Villegas and Justin Hahn have also positively impacted the Cherry and White offense, each compiling six points on the season from two goals and two assists.
> Hellgren Villegas earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll and was named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Rookie of the Week this past week for his outstanding efforts on the pitch. The freshman played a pivotal role in the Temple offense last week, contributing five points in the two games Temple played. On Monday, he notched his first collegiate goal and added his second assist of the season against a talented ACC opponent in Pitt. On Saturday night's AAC match-up at No. 13/20 UConn, Hellgren Villegas put Temple on the board first to send the Owls into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead over one of the nation's top teams, but the squad ultimately fell 2-1 to the Huskies.
> The Owls have found a recent offensive flare, netting nine of their 15 goals in the last six matches. The goals have been well distributed, coming from Hellgren Villegas, Justin Hahn, Nick Sarver, Campbell, Pierre Cayet, Mohamed and Fernandes in the most recent games.
Scouting the Golden Hurricane
> The Golden Hurricane are led by head coach Tom McIntosh in his 24th season at the helm of the program.
> Tulsa comes to North Broad with an overall record of 5-8-2, compiling a 1-4-0 nod so far in AAC play. The squad is coming off of a dominating 5-1 win over Oral Roberts on Oct. 23, when Joe Ruiz netted two goals and Chase Bromstedt assisted three the propel the Golden Hurricane to victory.
> Bromstedt leads Tulsa in points, notching 12 from three goals and six assists on the season. While his six assists totals twice as many as anyone else on the squad, the Golden Hurricane offense is widespread when it comes to scoring. Joe Ruiz and Gilles Kuhler each have four goals and have added an assist apiece, and Juan Sanchez has added nine points to the scoresheet from three goals and three assists. Miguel Velasquez and Harris Partain have each contributed five points for the squad as well.
> The Golden Hurricane have fluctuated in goal as well, as Bryson Reed and Cooper Clark have split time in net, playing seven and nine games respectively. Reed has allowed eight goals in his 617:24 of action, saving 33 shots and posting two shutouts for the squad. Clark has allowed 14 goals in 826:01 between the posts, tying his teammate with 33 saves and shutting out one team this season. Reed has started the seven most recent contests for the Golden Hurricane.
All-Time Series
> The Owls are 1-2-1 against Tulsa since the teams first faced in 2014. In their most recent meeting, Temple captured a 3-1 road victory over the Golden Hurricane.
