PHILADELPHIA - The season concluded in overtime for Temple field hockey as the Owls (2-16) dropped their final game by a score of 3-2 to Saint Francis (9-10). It was the final career game for Temple's four seniors who were honored for Senior Day - Jessika Daniels, Nellie Doyle, Chloe Johnson and Maris Stern.

Game Summary
> With just under five minutes elapsed in the game, the Owls took a 1-0 lead when junior Kathryn Edgar scored on a direct penalty corner with assists from Stern and sophomore Taylor Alba.
> The Red Flash had a quick answer, scoring on a corner of their own in the eighth minute for a 1-1 tie.
> The tie stood through halftime and another 16 minutes of game play until the 52nd minute when Saint Francis made it 2-1.
> Less than five minutes remained in regulation when a move to put sophomore Dani Batze in at kicking back to give the Owls an extra field player paid off with increased aggressiveness on offense. Freshman Tali Popinko took a perfect pass from freshman Nienke Oerlemans and tied the game at 2-2.
> The Red Flash earned four penalty corners in overtime and made the last one count in the 76th minute with a goal by Brea Seabrook.

Individual Highlights
> Junior Becky Gerhart made two defensive saves for the Owls including one in overtime, bringing her season total to six defensive saves. She will likely finish the season ranked in the top three in the nation along with teammate Batze (seven defensive saves).
> Johnson made nine saves in her final game including four in overtime.
> Edgar's goal brought her season total to four, tying her with junior Lucy Reed for the team lead.
> The goal by Popinko was her second of the season and her career, while the assist from Oerlemans was her third.

I don't think one particular person or line stood out. It was a great team effort."

Those that don't know hockey, it's easy for them to look superficially at us in that regard. People that have been interwoven with our program know what we're trying to do and how we're trying to do it. We didn't get the results we wanted, there's no doubt about that.
