Football's Delvon Randall and Rock Ya-Sin Selected for East vs. West Shrine Game

PHILADELPHIA- Temple's SAF Delvon Randall and CB Rock Ya-Sin have been selected to play in the 2019 East vs. West Shrine Game. This is the 94th annual Shrine game to be played. The game will take place on January 19, 2019, and will be held in St. Petersburg, Florida, the site of Temple's Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl last December.
Randall is a three-year starter and a four-year player for the Owls and is a vital leader in the secondary. He earned the single-digit (#2) jersey in the spring 2017. Randall has never missed a game for Temple and with two games left, he can break the record for most games played as an Owl at 54. Randall has 11 career interceptions and was named to the first-team All-AAC team in 2017. On the season, Randall has 67 tackles, three interceptions, five pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. His three interceptions have come consecutively in the past three games.
Ya-Sin is a senior transfer from Presbyterian College and is in his first season with the Owls. He earned the single-digit (#6) jersey in the 2018 summer and has been a crucial leader for the #DarkSide. Ya-Sin has teams afraid to go to his side of the field, and has made them pay when they do. So far this season he has 45 tackles, two TFLs, two interceptions, and 12 pass breakups. He is one of the only cornerbacks in the country to be targeted over 50 times and not let up a reception of 20+ yards.
For more than 90 years, some of football's greatest players and coaches have contributed to the tradition of the East-West Shrine Game, the nation's first college all-star football game. Created by the Shriners in 1925, the game is driven by the desire to support Shriners Hospitals for Children in its mission to help children in need of expert medical care. Participating players make an annual visit to the local Shriners Hospital, visiting children and staff in an experience that they will truly never forget.
