Archibong, Armstead, and Bowler Named to Football Academic All-Area

PHILADELPHIA- The Philadelphia Inquirer announced that three Temple Owls were named to the Academic All-Area Football team. DT Dan Archibong, RB Ryquell Armstead, and punter Connor Bowler are representing the Owls on the 24 man team.

Archibong is a Criminal Justice major with a 3.55 GPA. On the field, he was a force in the middle of the defensive line for the Owls. He had 16 tackles, two TFLs, a half sack, three pass breakups and a blocked kick. 

Armstead is an Adult and Organizational major with a 3.06 GPA. On the field, he had his best season of his career. He had 210 carries for 1,098 yards and 13 touchdowns in 10 games played. His best game came against Houston when he ran for 210 yards and an AAC record six touchdowns.

Bowler is an Electrical Engineering major and has a 3.65 GPA. In his first season as the starting punter, averages 42.4 yards per punt and had a 62 yarder. He pinned 18 of  52 punts inside the 20 yardline and also had 11 50-plus- yard punts.
