Golf Finishes 8th at AAC Championship

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Junior Trey Wren shot an even-par 71 for the second straight day to lead Temple Golf to an eighth place finish at the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship, presented by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater. USF, ranked #21 nationally, won the tournament by 20 strokes over second-place SMU with the Bulls Claudio Correa earning medalist honors with a six-under 207 at the par-71, 7,125-yard Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club.
Tournament Notes
> Wren, who had three birdies on the day, tied for 15th overall in the 50-player field with a five-over 218. His 10 birdies for the three rounds tied him for fourth best overall.
> Redshirt junior John Barone was next for the Owls, posting a nine-over 222 to tie for 30th.
> Junior Gary McCabe matched Barone with a 76 on the day and tied for 32nd with a 10-over 223.
> Senior Mark Farley had the second best round of the day, a one-over 72, and tied for 43rd with a 227.
> Freshman Dawson Anders, who was tied with McCabe as TU's top golfer after round one, rounded out the Owls quintet with a 233 to place 48th.
