Nicole Latgis Earns All-ECAC Second Team Honors in Lacrosse

PHILADELPHIA - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its Division I Awards and All-ECAC selections which include Temple lacrosse's Nicole Latgis. The standout defender was already named to both the IWLCA All Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, and the BIG EAST Conference First Team.

Latgis, also a Preseason All-BIG EAST Team at the start of the season, was among the league's very top defenders all year long. She led all players in the BIG EAST with 2.24 caused turnovers per game and 3.18 ground balls per game, ranking 11th in NCAA Division I in caused turnovers and 14th in ground balls. She finished the season with 38 caused turnovers to rank fourth all-time at Temple in a single season. With 64 caused turnovers in her career, Latgis ranks eighth all-time. Â
Also strong on the draw, Latgis tied for second on the team this year with 41 draw controls. She achieved her first career point as a senior with an assist in the Owls' 12-8 season-opening win vs. Rutgers. She was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on March 27 after the Owls upset #22 Denver and recorded a double-overtime win vs. Cincinnati.Â
Latgis graduated from Temple on May 10 with a degree in kinesiology, and was named to Temple's President's Honor Roll for a second year in a row for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or above.
