7.20.18 | Football
PHILADELPHIA - Temple redshirt sophomore Kenny Yeboah was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List as one of the best tight ends in the country.
Â
Despite having just one full season under his belt, the Allentown, Pa., native was nominated after catching 14 passes for 136 yards last season in 13 games played.
Â
The John Mackey Award is awarded to the most outstanding tight end in NCAA Division I college football. The Nassau County Sports Commission established the award in 2000 and it is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NFCAA).
Â
John Mackey, the award's namesake, is considered one of the best to play in the tight end position, a three-time All-NFL selection, and a member of the NFL All-Decade Team and 50th Anniversary team. In 2014, the Mackey Awards Foundation became a nonprofit charity, and it continues to assist student-athletes in need.
