Women’s Tennis Concludes Day Two of Cissie Leary Invite

PHILADELPHIA— Temple women's tennis finished the second day of competition at the Cissie Leary Invite. Day two consisted of singles quarterfinals and doubles semifinals and finals in the main draw and doubles and one round of singles in the back draw.

Notes
> Freshman Ruoyu Chen and junior Kristina Titova competed in the singles quarterfinals, but fell to their respective opponents. Chen faced Penn's Marija Curnic, who came out on top, 7-5, 6-1. Titova competed in three-set contest with Columbia's Yekaterina Alferova, with Alferova winning 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
> In the Flight A semifinals of doubles play, the duo of Titova/Surikova took on Joyce/Rodilosso of Princeton. The Tigers' pairing got the best of the Owls, winning 6-1. In Flight B, Temple's Castelli/Boz competed against Columbia's Bhan/Ferrari. The pair from Columbia edged out the Owls, 6-2.

> The Owls will wrap up competition at the Cissie Leary Invite on Sunday, Sept. 23. The third and final day will be comprised of singles semifinals and finals in the main draw and one round of singles in the back draw. Play is set to begin at 9 a.m.
