Women’s Soccer Hosts No. 19/16 USF on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA— Temple women's soccer (5-7, 1-2 AAC) returns to the Temple Sports Complex to host No. 19/16 USF (6-1, 1-0 AAC). The Owls will face the Bulls on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m.

Promotions
> Youth Soccer Day: Youth teams are invited to cheer on the Temple Owls, be a part of the starting line-ups, scrimmage at halftime and participate in post-game autograph session.
> Socktoberfest: All fans are invited to wear their craziest pair of socks. Show you crazy socks to the marketing table and you could win a FREE pair of Under Armour socks, while supplies last.

The Owls
> Sophomore midfielder Emma Wilkins leads the team in goals (5). Her five goals are tied for the fifth most in the American.
> Junior forward Morgan Morocco leads the Owls with two assists. Five Owls are tied in this category, with Marissa DiGenova, Hailey Gutowski, Emily Keitel, Gabriela Johnson and Kerri McGinley contributing to one goal each.
> Johnson earned two weekly accolades for her standout performance against Houston last Sunday. She was named American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week & Under Armour/Owlsports.com Athlete of the Week.
> Goalkeeper Morgan Basileo has notched 939 minutes between the posts on the season, with a goals against average of 1.34 and a 0.818 save percentage. She has earned a win in all four of Temple's shutouts this year.
> Last time out, Temple faced a strong conference opponent in UCF. The Owls fell 2-1 in a tough, physical battle at the Temple Sports Complex. Despite being down two goals early in the second half, the Owls showed resilience in the 60th minute when Morgan Morocco found the ball at her feet and ripped a shot toward the UCF net. The UCF keeper deflected the shot and Gabriela Johnson tracked the down the deflection. She collected the ball and buried it between the posts for her third goal of the season and to cut the deficit to one.

Scouting the Bulls
> USF is led by head coach Denise Schilte-Brown, who is in her 12th season with the Bulls.
> USF is 6-1 overall, playing their most recent match on Sept. 27 at UConn. The Bulls downed the Huskies 4-0 to increase their win streak to five.
> Forward Evelyne Viens is a powerhouse for the USF's offense. She has netted 11 goals and tallied four assists through seven matches. Viens is second in the nation in goals per game and has scored two or more goals in the last four games.
> Viens, along with Andrea Hauksdottir and Sydny Nasello, lead USF in assists. They have contributed to four goals each.
> Two keepers have seen time in the net for the Bulls. Freshman Sydney Martinez has logged 472 minutes, has a goals against average of 0.76 and 13 saves across six matches. Sophomore Rikki Farquharson has tallied 169 minutes, has a goals against average of 0.54 and four saves across three matches.
> The Bulls have outshot their opponents 135-47 and outscored them 27-5.

Series History- USF
> This will be the sixth matchup between the Owls and the Bulls. USF leads the series, 5-0.
> The most recent contest was held in 2017 in Tampa. USF edged Temple, defeating them 1-0.

> Free street parking is available around the TSC. Vehicles may also utilize the paid ($20) Temple Tower parking lot located at 1646 N. 13th Street.
