Football Loses High Scoring Matchup to Buffalo 36-29

>Temple began the game by attempting a sky kick that Buffalo recovered on the 50-yard line. Temple stopped the Bulls on a fourth-and-one to begin their first offensive drive.
>After narrowly avoiding a sack, QB Tyree Jackson threw a 33-yard reception to WR Charlie Jones to score first in the game. Â A missed extra point kept the score at 6-0 Buffalo.
>QB Anthony Russo and QB Todd Centeio came into the game in a variety of packages for the Owls. Russo completed his first collegiate pass to Brodrick Yancy for 18 yards.
>Taking a shot into the end zone, Nutile had his pass picked off on a 50/50 ball intended for WR Ventell Bryant. The interception led to a 7-play, 63-yard drive capped off by a 22-yard run by RB Kevin Marks. Buffalo attempted a 2-pt conversion, but it was picked off by CB Rock Ya-Sin to keep the score at 12-0 Buffalo.
>Jackson was intercepted again by Rock Ya-Sin to give Temple 1:45 seconds to get down the field and score to end the half.
>Nutile and Co. drove 80-yards on 8 plays to get on the board and cut the lead to 12-7. In the final play of the half, Nutile slung a Hail Mary pass into a crowd of Owls and Bulls that was brought down by WR Branden Mack for the touchdown.
>Temple started out the second half with another scoring drive. Nutile connected with WR Randle Jones on a 44-yard bomb to make the score 14-12 in favor of Temple. It was his first career touchdown catch. Â
>Nutile threw another interception deep in Owls' territory to set up Buffalo for a 1-yard touchdown run by Kevin Marks to make it 19-14 Buffalo.
>After some back-and-forth, Buffalo drove down the field and kicker Adam Mitcheson hit a 46-yard field goal to make it 22-14 Buffalo.
>Temple backed up Buffalo into its own endzone and was forced to punt. Branden Mack blocked the Buffalo punt and it was recovered by Ty Mason in the endzone for a touchdown. The Owls then set up for a two-point conversion that was completed on an end around reverse pass from Bryant to TE Kenny Yeboah. The game was then tied 22-22. Â
>Buffalo then countered with an 8-play 58-yard drive that resulted in a 5-yard touchdown catch by WR Antonio Nunn to make it 29-22 Buffalo. Â
>Temple answered the Buffalo score with a scoring drive of its own. The Owls drove 75 yards on eight plays in 2:52 to tie the game at 29. Nutile threw a 3rd- and goal fade to the corner of the endzone to Mack who brought it in for the score and his second touchdown of the day.
>Buffalo came back down the field 81 yards and scored again on a 29-yard catch-and-run by WR Anthony Johnson. With 0:59 to go the score was 36-29 Buffalo.
>In an attempt to come down and win the game, Nutile was strip-sacked at midfield sealing the win for Buffalo.
>Temple is now 0-2 on the season and will head to Maryland next week in pursuit of its first win of the 2018 season.
