NORFOLK, Va.— Temple men's tennis (1-1) finished up its road trip to Virginia in a dominant fashion, defeating South Carolina State (0-1), 6-1.

Notes
> The Owls had control of the match from the start, sweeping doubles and earning the point through wins from all three pairs: Casas/Wallner, Dorash/Cucalon and Bohorquez/Araoz.
> Temple did not let up in singles play, earning victories in five of the matchups against South Carolina State. Sophomore Mark Wallner and junior Paolo Cucalon finished up first for the Owls, each downing their opponents, 6-1, 6-2. Next was senior Alberto Caceres Casas, who went the distance against his Bulldog opponent, winning 6-0, 4-6, 10-8. Temple's fourth singles win came from efforts of junior Juan Araoz, who came out on top, 6-1, 7-5. Senior Uladzimir Dorash went the distance against Aleksa Daskalovic, defeating him 7-6, 5-7, 10-6.

> "I'm truly happy with how the guys played today," said head coach Steve Mauro. "It was great to rebound after a tough loss to nationally-ranked ODU. The guys performed well in singles and doubles. South Carolina State won their conference last year and they're always a tough opponent, so I'm really happy that the guys rebounded and fought hard to get a win."
