Men’s Tennis Takes on Cleveland State Saturday in Home Opener

PHILADELPHIA—Temple men's tennis (1-1) will host Cleveland State (0-2) on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Legacy Tennis Center. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 13th year at the helm of the men's program.
> The Owls' last match was on Jan. 19 against South Carolina State. The Owls downed the Bulldogs, 6-1. Temple had control of the match from the start, sweeping doubles and earning the point through wins from all three pairs: Casas/Wallner, Dorash/Cucalon and Bohorquez/Araoz. Temple did not let up in singles play, earning victories in five of the matchups against South Carolina State.
Scouting Cleveland State
> The Vikings are led by head coach Brian Etzkin, who is in his 17th year at the helm of the program.
> Cleveland State opened its 2019 season with a doubleheader against No. 2 Ohio State. The Vikings dropped both matches to the Buckeyes.
