PHILADELPHIA – Keith Holt, who played two seasons of football at Temple, returns to his alma mater as its Director of Compliance and Student Affairs. In his role, Holt will be the compliance contact for the sport of Football and the liaison to the office of Admissions.
"We are excited to bring back one of our own, Keith Holt, as our new Director of Compliance and Student Affairs," said Temple University's Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Affairs Kristy Sromovsky. "Keith has gained a wealth of experience in the field of compliance since his time here, and his experience as a student-athlete at Temple will be not only helpful, but will resonate with the current student-athletes."
Holt, who played two seasons at Temple, played in all 11 games as a true freshman in 2005. That season he made 33 tackles, including 11 solo, and also had 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and one forced fumble. The following season, he made 16 tackles, including one tackle for loss, while seeing action in four games before suffering a career ending back injury.
"I want to thank Kristy Sromovsky and Dr. (Patrick) Kraft for the opportunity to come back to Temple University," said Holt. "Temple is where the seeds of my career were sown. There is no better place for me to grow in my profession and I look forward to working with the entire athletics staff to continue the high standard of excellence in place."
Holt, who grew up in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, served as the Compliance Coordinator at Oregon State University since August 2017. In his role there, he worked in all areas of intercollegiate compliance, including coordinating and leading monthly initial eligibility meetings with football staff and respective prospective student-athletes (PSAs); preparing and filing NCAA and PAC-12 waivers, including but not limited to: Legislative Relief Waivers, Hardship Waivers, Two-Year College Transfer Waivers, Initial Eligibility Waivers; monitoring NCAA rules applicable to Amateurism and Athletics Eligibility, Recruiting and Eligibility; and overseeing and administering the National Letter of Intent and Grant-in-Aid Programs.
In his time at OSU, Holt also served on the strategic planning committee which focused on inclusion, diversity, and equity within the athletic department.
Prior to his arrival at Oregon State, Holt served as a graduate assistant for two years in the compliance office at Bethune-Cookman University, where he earned his master's degree in transformative leadership in 2017. He earned his bachelor's degree in physiology/exercise science from Temple in 2009.
